Run: 1.3 miles, 19.56 moving time 15:08/mi pace 227 calories
Plan: 5 minute warm up walk then alternate 60 seconds of running and 90 seconds of walking for 20 minutes. (8 repititions)
Obviously there are greater variables for my waist size, but I still think that overall we can track and hopefully see a trend.
This running thing, SUCKS! I can't believe I used to like it so much! I used to float along my effort expended in trying to go ever faster, who knew that you could expend so much effort just staying moving? And when did breathing while running become so difficult? I know it is the three decades of smoking responsible for that, but after four years of quit I expected to see some improvement by now...
THUD THUD THUD, that is the feeling of my feet hitting the pavement. everything that can jiggle does, and I can only last about half a minute of running, so instead of the 60 seconds of running and 90 seconds of walking that this plan I found suggests I guess I am adding a "pre week" of 30 seconds of running and 60 seconds of walking, blech. This will be even less fun when the weather forces me inside on the elliptical.
Seriously, why don't ellipticals have an option to plug them into our Wiis or X-boxes and compete with other players around the world. It seriously would not be hard to make up scenery to "walk" or "run" through and give us others to work against.... even if you are like my friend Patti who likes to run solo and compete against herself, it is still interesting to see scenery and rankings that change, even if the only other person in your class is yourself. For me though I KNOW that I would be working harder trying to beat that !@#$% who is just that little bit faster than me and then I could wear those sassy shorts on my avatar.
